People have consciousness which can equate to the ability, even when times are 'tough', to persevere onward and use their inner resources to do so. Thus, a bad economy is no excuse at all for enslaving animals, excessively breading them for profit in cruel conditions. Lol, 'people mills'. Too true. The human condition in this area should be of WAY more concern. Do you realize that Schoharie County is #1 in the state as far as unemployment? Just announced the other day. Nice huh? That is not to say that I don't find the conditions of many animals in the area to be anything less than offensive - in a civilized society anyway. However, if there is to be a negative spotlight placed here it should be how the humans are living, and what can be done to help them.
